Eye of the hunter

This is the eye of a great horned owl. The shot is a macro of her eye, and I'm still impressed that she barely moved during the picture. I'm not sure if the fuzzies are due to her moving or because their feathers are designed to make no noise and therefore fade to really thin featherlets (i think they're called).
Anyways this beautiful Great Horned Owl currently resides at the Vancouver Aquarium. She was hit by a car, but those that hit her took her to a bird shelter and so instead of losing her life she only lost a wing.
She's quite stunning, not only in that she's a beauty, but in the fact that she's so calm. We stood and talked to her handler for about 30min or more and before that there was a crew of ppl around her. But that didn't phase her. She continued to visually hunt the gulls, crows and squirels that could be seen nearby. She hates to be touched (ie she bites) but she doesn't seem to mind the camera at all.
